The Chrome extension "trueX - X (Twitter) Truth & Credibility Checker" ("this extension") is built with privacy as a foundational principle. We do not operate proxy servers or telemetry collectors, ensuring a local-first, minimal-transmission architecture.

1. Data Transmitted Externally

The only external service this extension connects with is the TypeSafe AI API endpoint (https://api.typesafe.ai/v1/systemone).

Information Transmitted: Post content (tweet_text), author handle/name (author), evaluation language preference (language), and your user-provided TypeSafe AI API key (sent as a standard Bearer authorization header).
Timing of Transmission:
- When Auto-Verify is ON: Sent only when an unverified tweet scrolls into view (+200px margin) and remains visible for at least 150ms. Rapidly skipped tweets are cancelled and never evaluated.
- When Auto-Verify is OFF: Sent only when you explicitly click the "⚡ trueX Verify" button on a tweet.
- Previously verified tweets retrieved from the local cache are displayed immediately without making an external request.
Connection Security: All requests are sent over encrypted HTTPS directly from your browser to api.typesafe.ai. Data processed by TypeSafe AI is subject to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Zero Data Receipt by the Extension Developer

No Intermediary Servers: The trueX developers (furoku) operate no backend proxy servers, databases, or analytics endpoints.
Direct Processing Without Developer Receipt: Tweet text and author names processed for credibility analysis are transmitted directly from your browser to TypeSafe AI (api.typesafe.ai) using your personal API key. The extension developer never receives, inspects, or stores your tweets, browsing activity, account credentials, or IP addresses.
No Third-Party Trackers: The extension contains no ad networks, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

This extension stores data exclusively in your browser's private storage (chrome.storage.local). None of this information leaves your computer:

Settings: Auto-verify mode state, language preference, label folding preferences, and your personal TypeSafe AI API key.
Evaluation Cache (cache_v4_*): Cached verdicts and scores to prevent redundant API queries. You can clear this anytime via "Clear Cache" in the popup.
Local Statistics (truex_stats): Aggregate count of verified tweets, label distribution percentages, cache hit rate, and average latency. No tweet text, author names, post IDs, or URLs are ever recorded in statistics—only aggregate numbers and milliseconds. You can reset stats at any time.

4. Permissions Requested & Justifications

storage: Used to store settings, your API key, local verification cache, and local statistics in your browser.
host_permissions (https://x.com/*, https://twitter.com/*): Required to detect tweet elements and inject verification badges on X/Twitter.
host_permissions (https://api.typesafe.ai/*): Required for the background service worker to send verification requests to the TypeSafe AI API.
